What this blog is

FortuneLeaf is a practical blog about everyday life done a little better. We write researched, hand-edited guides on habits and focus, keeping a small home in order, health and posture basics, hobbies like coffee and houseplants, and sensible money routines. The name — a leaf for growth, fortune in the old sense of wellbeing — reflects what the blog is for: small, steady improvements.

How we write

A few rules shape every post. State a fact only when it can be checked, and name the source when it matters. Prefer the practical over the impressive: a routine someone can actually keep beats a perfect one nobody follows. Say plainly when research is mixed or when something is a matter of preference. And never lift another site's writing — every guide here is written from scratch.

How a guide gets made

A guide starts with a question specific enough to answer — not "eat better" but "how long does cooked rice keep, and at what temperature." Numbers, timings and procedures are checked against a primary source, usually a government agency, a public health body or a standards organisation, and those sources are listed at the foot of the guide. A sentence that cannot be checked does not stay in. The English and Korean versions are written separately rather than translated, because a translated sentence reads like one. The date of the last check appears under the byline so a reader can see how current the guide is.

Why it is free

All the guides are free and no login is required. Running costs are covered by advertising, kept to a minimum and placed where it does not interrupt reading.
