Free Numerology — Your Life Path Number, Calculated and Explained

What the calculator does

Numerology reduces your full birth date to a single digit — your Life Path number. Add every digit of the year, month and day, then keep adding the digits of the result until one number remains. The exception is the master numbers 11, 22 and 33, which the tradition holds back from reduction because they are read as carrying a heavier charge. Our tool performs the reduction for you and shows the working, so you can see exactly how your date became your number rather than being handed a result to take on faith.

What you get

Your Life Path number with its full reading: the temperament it describes, the kind of work it suits, how it tends to behave in close relationships, the growth edge it points to, and the caution that comes with its strengths. Each of the twelve numbers — one through nine plus the three master numbers — has its own written interpretation rather than a keyword list.

How to read your number

Read the strength and the caution together; in numerology they are the same trait seen from two sides. A number described as driven is also the number that burns out, and one described as harmonising is also the one that avoids necessary conflict. The tradition is at its most useful when it names a pattern you half-recognise, so the test of a good reading is not whether it flatters you but whether it makes something familiar easier to see clearly.

Questions people ask

Life Path is derived from the birth date, so it does not change and does not need a birth time. Numerology sits alongside other systems rather than competing with them — many people read their Life Path next to their saju Day Master or their sun sign, and where two systems say something similar in different vocabularies, that agreement is usually the part worth sitting with.

A worked example: 15 June 1988

The calculation starts by adding every digit of the birth date exactly as written. For 1988-06-15 that is 1+9+8+8+0+6+1+5 = 38, and reducing once more gives 3+8 = 11. Normally the sum keeps reducing until a single digit remains, but 11, 22 and 33 are master numbers and are left intact. So this date lands on 11 rather than 2, and the result screen shows the whole chain, 38 to 11, instead of only the final figure.

The reading that follows is the entry for number 11. It describes a temperament where intuition moves half a step ahead of logic, a habit of picking up on moods before anyone has put them into words, and practical notes on handling that sensitivity without wearing yourself out. It also mentions what tends to drain a person with this number and what is worth trimming back.

Because each of the twelve numbers has its own text, a single day's difference changes the whole page. Move the date to 16 June 1988 and the sum becomes 39, then 12, then 3, which opens a reading centred on expression and communication instead. That is the full scope here: one birth date, the reduction it produces, and the interpretation attached to that number.
