Editorial Standards

Original, hand-written interpretations

Every reading on FortuneLeaf is assembled from a curated library of interpretations that our editorial team writes ourselves. We do not copy text from other websites. A reading is built by matching your input — a birth date, a question, the cards you draw — to the relevant hand-written passages, so the result is specific to you while remaining genuinely original content.

Sources and traditions

We base our interpretations on established symbolic systems: the Rider-Waite-Smith tarot tradition, the Five Elements and Four Pillars of saju, the Tojeong almanac, western astrology, numerology and the East Asian animal zodiac. Card and symbol imagery is drawn from public-domain sources. We use inclusive, respectful terminology for every culture we cover.

Accuracy and review

Our content is reviewed for consistency across all seven languages and updated when we find an error or a clearer way to explain something. If you spot a mistake, our Contact page tells you how to report it, and we will correct it.

Entertainment, not advice

FortuneLeaf is intended for entertainment and self-reflection. Our readings are based on tradition and symbolism, not scientific fact, and are never a substitute for professional medical, legal, financial or psychological advice. Please see our Disclaimer for details.

Fact-checking

Every article is drafted and then read again by a person before publication. Three things get checked: that cited works and dates actually exist, that names and titles are spelled correctly, and that 'this is how the tradition sees it' has not been blurred into 'this has been scientifically verified'. Claims we cannot verify are either left out or clearly marked as something that is said rather than something that is known.

Corrections policy

When an error is found after publication we fix it rather than quietly deleting it. Corrections that change a matter of fact are noted on the article itself; typos and small edits for readability are made without a note. Reports can be sent to mido831@naver.com.

Independence

We do not accept payment from any fortune teller, app or product in exchange for coverage. Advertising is served automatically by an ad network, and we do not run advertising that takes the form of recommending a particular business inside our articles. If we ever introduce affiliate links, we will label them clearly on the article that carries them.

How our content is created

Our readings are produced by our own software from a library of interpretations that our editorial team writes by hand — never copied from other sites. Our educational articles are researched and drafted with the help of modern writing tools, and then read, fact-checked and edited by a person before publication, so each piece carries a genuine point of view rather than a generic, machine-made summary. Palm and face readings are processed entirely on your own device and are not sent to a server.
